Map of today's overstimulation
Your factory sensor picks up more detail than most — but without a map it's hard to see when and with what it gets overloaded. Fill in this table for 3-4 days to start anticipating overload instead of only managing it once it's already here.
| Time of day | Stimulus or situation | Load (0-10) |
|---|---|---|
After a few days, ask yourself
- · Is there a time window where the load rises repeatedly?
- · Are auditory stimuli (noise, voices) more frequent than visual ones (lights, screens, crowds)?
- · Does the load rise more when you're already tired or low, even if the stimulus is the usual one?
Behind this sheet: An experience-sampling (ESM) study published in Scientific Reports (2025) found that overstimulation in highly sensitive people rises in the afternoon-evening and with unpleasant auditory/visual stimuli, tiredness or low mood — it isn't random, it has real patterns you can anticipate.
