Disgust

«Yuck, I don't like this!»

💛

What do I feel in my body?

I wrinkle my nose, turn my face away and don't want to go near.

⏰

When does it appear?

With strong smells or tastes, or something that looks like it could be bad for me.

🌟

What can I do?

You can say "I don't like it" politely. Disgust protects us from things that could be bad for us.

🧡

An idea for mum or dad

Respect their rejections without forcing (especially with food). Help them put words to what they don't like.

🚫

Better to avoid saying

"Don't be dramatic, just eat it". Forcing past disgust (especially with food) usually creates more resistance, not less.

Shall we play at recognising emotions?
